It just won't connect ;/

I have this forum open with the instructions, I have selected the right server etc... but I keep getting a blue square with a red dot in a circle on the left and 'not connected to server' even though I keep telling it to connect. FFS.

and try to type /server irc.quakenet.org in the box :)

The only difference I can see is that I haven't filled in the email address which I did last time. Will try the stupid thing again.

Just put junk in the email address, the bit before the @ is used during connection

Hmm am no longer getting the firewall error message (even though I am sure it is that) but it cycles through the servers:
